Government Loft Insulation Grants
There is a vast array of insulation grants around the country; the majority however, are not actually funded by the Government. The vast majority are in fact funded by utility companies (though they are fully endorsed by the Government and local authorities). The reason for this is because the Government have legislated that they must reduce the amount of CO2 entering the atmosphere.
To pay for this, we have been levied by the utilities through our heating bills. So in effect - you have already paid to have the work carried out, so why not claim it!
You will be entitled to a 100% grant if you receive any of the following: If you do not receive any of the following, you are still entitled to a grant. See Subsidised Loft Insulation Grants.
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance
- War Disablement Pension*
- Income related employment and support allowance
- Working Tax credit**
- Child Tax Credit*
- Pension Credit; or,
- Are over the age of 70
* Income must be less than £16,190 per year.
** Must include a mobility supplement or constant support allowance
